Maxime Stauffer
Maxime (Max) Stauffer is Co-CEO and co-founder of the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance (SI). In his role, he is responsible for overseeing the organization’s research, facilitation, partnerships, communications, governance, and fundraising work.
With a special interest in evidence-informed policymaking, risk governance, and decision-making under uncertainty, Max has dedicated his career to helping policymakers navigate complexity. Prior to founding SI, he served as Senior Science-Policy Officer at the Geneva Science-Policy Interface, Senior Visiting Fellow at UN University, and co-President and head of policy research at Effective Altruism Switzerland. He’s also a World Economic Forum Expert on Complex Risks and co-founder of the Geneva Social Complexity Lab.
Max holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva and is completing a master’s degree in Computational Math at Johns Hopkins University.
