Renata Dwan is Director of Tech Diplomacy at the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance (SI) where she leads the Institute’s policy and programs in support of international AI governance.<\/p>\n
Renata brings more than 25 years’ experience in international affairs and multilateral policymaking at the intersection of science and diplomacy. As Special Advisor to the UN Tech Envoy, she led support to the negotiation of the Global Digital Compact. As Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), Renata launched new initiatives to explore the impact of digital technologies on international security cooperation.<\/p>\n
Renata drove system-wide UN peace operations and peacebuilding reform initiatives and was an advisor to the EU on crisis management. Her research and thought leadership includes serving as Deputy Director of Chatham House and Program Director at Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. She has held fellowships at Princeton University and the EU Institute of Security Studies and is a Senior Advisor at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue.<\/p>\n
